WHY IT MATTERS

Parenting for social change

Some days feel hard because…

  • You’re a change maker. In a culture that promotes disconnection, you want peace and connection in your relationships.

  • You are trying to do the job of a village and do not have solid support systems or models to help you.

I’ve worked with dozens of families to understand that without conscious effort we tend to repeat patterns of parenting that are not effective, don’t support our family values or long term vision for our relationship with our children.

Conscious Parenting rests on these core beliefs/practices:

  • There are no bad kids.

  • All children naturally want to contribute and listen to us when they feel fully seen, heard, validated, respected and unconditionally loved.

  • We prioritize our relationship with our children instead of trying to control them.

  • We give children kind firm limits, and plenty of empathy.

  • We stay curious about how our own childhoods may be affecting how we perceive our children and their behaviors.

We need a generation of adults who know how to collaborate, connect, communicate and understand that relationships are their lifeblood, freely express their gifts, live with humility, self-compassion, and empathy for others. And just as importantly, I want to enjoy my life with my children NOW, in every day life.

This is my why…

Awaken to your why…

We now have an opportunity to NOT repeat cycles of intergenerational trauma and enter a new paradigm of motherhood, one that is supported by the fields of neuroscience, human attachment theory and our intuition.
